BIO

Eon has been working within the field of cinematography and filmmaking since 2002. He completed his undergrad at Columbia College Chicago in 2009, and has since gone on to create work with a diverse pallet of filmmakers and collaborators within the Chicago community and beyond.

Born and raised in Culver City, California, he entered into filmmaking through his high school after school arts program (Academy of Visual and Performing Arts), working with 16mm and being mentored by working professionals. Living in the LA area gave him exposure and resources to the industry that nurtured his desire to learn the craft. In 2003 he received a scholarship to study and shoot film with the Young Filmmakers Association in Italy, and Catalina island the following year. His senior year he made is directorial thesis short, The Sky is Falling, shot on 16mm.

In 2005 he moved to Chicago to study at Columbia College’s Film and Video program. There he continued honing his craft and becoming deeply rooted in the local film scene, at a time that the city was beginning to establish itself as a major destination for production. After completing his undergraduate degree he joined the International Cinematographer’s Guild in 2011. Since then he has shot numerous projects within the independent film community, as well as episodic television, most notably 3 seasons of the Netflix series Easy (dir. Joe Swanberg, 2016-2019).

He continues to live and work in Chicago, traversing the space between DP and specialized camera movement systems (Drone, Crane and Remote systems). Story telling remains his focus and passion, seeking to work within the ever thriving independent film ecosystem of Chicago and the greater Midwest, cultivating a network on friends and collaborators.
